Course Description and Objectives:
The Six Sigma methodology is a systematic approach to achieving substantial financial results by focusing on the quality of products that result in customer satisfaction and brand loyalty. Lean Production System is a systematic method for improving the “flow” or balance through minimizing or eliminating unevenness (mura) and waste (muda) within a business system without compromising productivity resulting in vast market growth in a short period of time. When properly deployed on improving business projects, Lean Six Sigma (LSS) leads to significant financial, cultural, and operational impacts with transparent gains and high employee satisfaction.
Trainees will learn the Six Sigma DMAIC methodology through hand-on exercises presenting real business problems. Green Belts will be able to implement the principles, practices, tools, and techniques of Six Sigma to support a Black Belt led project team. Green Belts will also be able to apply the DMAIC methodology and statistical problem solving tools in their own work environment.
The LSS course offered by TMAC-GC is an extract of numerous years of field research on effectiveness of implementing Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and essence of achieving rapid results in all sizes of organizations. TMAC-GC has concluded that many tools offered by Six Sigma or Lean training packages, are hardly ever used in an organizational system. Especially, in the case of businesses with 50 – 2,000 employees, less than 5% of people who have obtained SS or LSS certificates on any levels have ever used more than 30% of the tools they were trained on and tested for completing the course.
TMAC-GC offers LSS course in both Green and Black Belt levels with an emphasis on smooth and quick implementation of most applicable tools to achieve rapid and high financial and cultural impacts in the business environment. After completing this course, the trainees will:
- Identify, lead, and implement process-level improvement projects
- Learn how and what type of data to collect and develop project parameters and predict outcomes
- Learn how to execute LSS methodology effectively by navigating organizational cultural barriers
- Understand flow and waste elimination by prioritizing voice of customer and using most applicable statistical and root-cause analysis tools
- Work with process owners to verify, validate, and sustain financial gains
With problem solving exercises, in-course assignments, real organizational case studies, and dynamic presentation, trainees will gain first hand insights into the essential factors that make or break a Lean Six Sigma project implementation. By avoiding the many pitfalls of typical practitioners, the trainees will have the resources to achieve objectives harmoniously, quickly, and economically while generating maximum impact for their organization. With successful completion of this session, you will receive a certificate with NIST-MEP logo validating your true understanding of the subject matter.
- Familiarity with basic statistics and Excel 7 or higher is helpful.
- A Mac or PC laptop with Windows 7 operating system or higher will be needed in the classroom.
- Administrator privileges to install software provided in class is necessary. TMAC-GC will provide suitable statistical software for all trainees at NO COST.
TMAC-GC pledges to support all trainees’ projects during implementation up to 60 days post-training at $0.00 cost to ensure that their learning has been completed in their fields. Our instructors will be available during this period to consult, answer questions, and provide helpful suggestions.
